PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mamoru Takamura (ranked 3758 p4p, 334 weight class) and Michal Biszpink (ranked 5298 p4p, 445 weight class). Takamura comes into the arena with Pay Money To My Pain - Weight Of My Pride blaring out of the sound system. Michal Biszpink is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Michal Biszpink!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, David Hoff and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takamura with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Takamura dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Biszpink. That did some damage!
Biszpink on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Takamura. Takamura obviously looking to wear him down.
Takamura looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Takamura misses with a low kick.
Takamura turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Takamura stuffs the takedown.
Takamura throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Biszpink pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Takamura looks for the body kick but Biszpink saw that one coming.
Biszpink takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Biszpink tries to close the distance and clinch up but Takamura swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Takamura is looking to control Biszpink's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Takamura avoid being mounted?
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Biszpink tries to stand and escape but Takamura is controlling the position.
Biszpink has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Biszpink is nestled in close to Takamura, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Biszpink looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Takamura is controlling Biszpink's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Takamura has hold of Biszpink's hands but Biszpink slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Biszpink lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Biszpink blocks the strikes from Takamura.
Biszpink missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Biszpink prevents Takamura from improving his position.
Takamura controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
Biszpink tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Takamura is controlling Biszpink's trapped leg to prevent Biszpink from advancing to side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Takamura is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Takamura keeps control of the position for the meantime.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Takamura throws a nice head kick!
Takamura finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Biszpink shapes to counter with a head kick.
Takamura tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Takamura tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Biszpink is able to avoid easily.
Takamura throws a low kick but Biszpink avoids it.
Takamura throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Biszpink fails with the takedown.
Good leg kick by Takamura there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mamoru Takamura dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Takamura throws a low kick but it's checked well by Biszpink.
Biszpink avoids the head kick by Takamura.

Takamura gets caught flat footed, as Biszpink shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Biszpink would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Biszpink throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Takamura works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Takamura is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Biszpink wanted to stand there but Takamura had control of the position.
Takamura pulls Biszpink in close to prevent any damage.
Biszpink is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Biszpink wants to get up but he can't break Takamura's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Biszpink is in close to Takamura's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Biszpink throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Biszpink has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Takamura is proving hard to escape from.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Takamura is adopting a defensive guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
A slapping leg kick lands for Takamura.
Biszpink drops his hands momentarily and Takamura needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Biszpink just on the top of the head. Biszpink drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Biszpink - he's done!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Mamoru Takamura!
An out of breath Mamoru Takamura thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
