Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Don Carter (ranked 9570 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Curt (ranked 6497 p4p, 637 weight class). Don Carter has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Don Carter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bob Curt!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Alyssa Summers and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch lands to the side of Carter 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Curt fails to land with a series of punches.
Carter wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Curt clinches up against the cage.
Curt looking for a takedown.
Curt letting Carter take a breather here.
Curt has had enough of the clinch but Carter keeps him there for the moment.

Curt pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Curt bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carter tries to improve position but can't.
Curt tries to advance to mount but Carter denies him.
Curt scoring with punches and elbows.

Carter manages to work his way to half guard, despite Curt's best efforts.

Curt is looking for a kimura here.
Carter punching from the bottom.
Carter has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Curt is working away from the top position though.
Curt wants to control but Carter is keeping him busy.
Curt seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Curt is nestled in close to Carter, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Curt looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Carter wants to control the action here but instead Curt manages to pass to full mount!

Curt has hold of Carter's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Carter manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Curt blocks Carter's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Carter is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Curt controlling his opponent.
Carter tries to lock up and control but Curt gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Carter sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Curt tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Carter.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Curt tries to pass to full mount but Carter defends it.
Carter wants to control but Curt is keeping busy.
Carter is not content to let Curt control the position.
Curt trying to control from Carter's half guard. Carter has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Carter is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bob Curt dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Curt fails with an attempt to clinch.

Curt drives through with a takedown into guard.
Curt trying to control the position from guard on top but Carter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Carter controls Curt momentarily but Curt frees himself.
Carter looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Curt puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carter is staying active underneath Curt, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Carter gets back to full guard.

Curt is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Curt throws a big elbow that misses.
Curt lands a couple of elbows.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Curt wants to pass the guard but Carter is keeping the position.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Curt. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Curt scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Carter doesn't seem bothered though.
Curt lands a jab to the nose.

Curt closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Carter did well to prevent Curt getting side control.

Curt has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Curt is looking to take a break and control but Carter is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Carter on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Curt drops an elbow to the side of Carter's head.
Carter won't allow Curt to pass to mount.
Carter trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!

Curt is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Carter has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Carter!

Curt looking for subs off his back but Carter has passed one foot through into half guard.
Curt is breathing heavily.
Curt is trying to maintain the position but Carter is very close to passing his half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bob Curt showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Carter's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Curt closes this distance looking for a takedown but Carter circles away.
Carter shoots in for a takedown but Curt shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Carter gets caught napping as Curt dives in and scores a takedown. Carter manages to retain guard.
Carter throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Curt stays in close to Carter's body and controls the position.
Carter is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Carter tries to bench press Curt off him but Curt keeps the position.
Bob Curt is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Curt takes a little break here. Carter wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Carter is trying to control Curt's posture but Curt avoids it.
Carter is trying to get back to half guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Curt misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Curt closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Carter's guard.
Curt controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Carter pulls Curt in close to prevent any damage.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Don Carter has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Curt doesn't manage to clinch there - Carter circles away.
Carter attempts a counter takedown but Curt avoids it well and moves away.

And that's the end of the fight!
Bob Curt comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Curt has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A less than humble Bob Curt misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
