Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lanny Poffo (ranked 25446 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Fraser (ranked 9914 p4p, 0 weight class). Poffo comes to the cage accompanied by The Genius. Lanny Poffo is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lanny Poffo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chris Fraser!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poffo tries to clinch but Fraser moves out of range.
Jeez, both these guys look absolutely knackered already, that's not a good sign!
Poffo is looking to clinch.
Poffo fails with a takedown attempt.
Poffo really is a fat lump.

Fraser drives through and clinches with Poffo against the cage.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Fraser has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Poffo wants a takedown but no success here.
Poffo is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Fraser gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lanny Poffo. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Fraser breaks the clinch.
Fraser lands a two punch combo.
Fraser fails with the takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fraser changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Poffo tries to avoid it but Fraser manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Poffo to the ground. Poffo escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Poffo rushes Fraser and presses him up against the cage.
Poffo can't find room to land a body shot as Fraser controls the action.

Fraser decides to pull guard.

Poffo trying to control the position from guard on top but Fraser is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Fraser controls Poffo momentarily but Poffo frees himself.
Poffo scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Poffo trying to control but Fraser is working from the bottom.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Fraser drives through and clinches with Poffo against the cage.
I was talking to Poffo's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Poffo goes for a takedown attempt but Fraser pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Fraser shoots in for a takedown but Poffo shows good takedown defense.
Horrible takedown attempt by Fraser or perhaps it was just good defense by Poffo, which made it look bad.

Poffo drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Poffo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fraser swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Poffo missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Fraser is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Poffo defends well.

Fraser keeping moving, preventing Poffo from controlling successfully.
Fraser is looking to stand up but Poffo isn't so interested in that idea.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Poffo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Fraser but Fraser pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Fraser darts in and clinches Poffo up against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Fraser tries for a takedown. No joy.

Poffo jumps guard and drags Fraser to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Fraser really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Poffo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Poffo is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Fraser is aware though and is defending well.
Fraser is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Poffo throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Fraser postures up.
Poffo pulls Fraser in close to his closed guard and prevents Fraser from doing any damage or advancing position.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Poffo is trying to control the position but Fraser postures up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Chris Fraser will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Poffo has a takedown stuffed.
Fraser lands a body shot.
Poffo misses with a takedown attempt
and Fraser counters with a series of strikes. Poffo will be more careful next time no doubt.

Fraser closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Poffo to the mat! Poffo manages to get full guard.
Poffo is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Poffo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Poffo is working hard here to advance position.

Fraser controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Poffo pulls Fraser in close to prevent any damage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Poffo is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Poffo is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Fraser rolls with it to try and escape but Poffo cranks on the arm and Fraser is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
