Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Jnr Lock (ranked 9299 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Rylie (ranked 25566 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ryan Jnr Lock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ryan Rylie!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Sandra Marshall and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rylie throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Lock was covering up waiting for the punch and Rylie finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Lock looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Lock trying to keep a closed guard but Rylie is proving a slippery customer.

Lock has his foot on Rylie's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rylie works his way back into a safe position though.
Rylie controls from within his opponent's guard.

Rylie drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rylie jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rylie is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lock looking for a guillotine here but Rylie defends easily.
Lock looking to control.

Rylie is looking to work some ground and pound but Lock has wrist control.
Rylie passes Lock's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Rylie wants to work for an arm triangle but Lock is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Rylie perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Rylie's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
More stalling from Rylie.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Rylie passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Lock!

It looks like Rylie might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Poor strikes thrown by Rylie there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Rylie takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Rylie looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Lock tries to hold on but Rylie pushes him away.
Lock is wriggling around trying to escape.
Rylie is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Rylie misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Lock is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Rylie takes Lock's back.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Lock enables Rylie to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Lock manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Lock looking to control.
Lock can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rylie controls the pace.
Lock is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Ryan Rylie has got the better of the ground game so far.

Rylie gets to his feet. Lock looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Rylie will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Rylie decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The adventures of Rylie the control monster continue. Boring.
Rylie is thwarting Lock's attempts to control the position.
Rylie frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Lock is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Rylie tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Rylie wants to finish this one by submission but Lock is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Rylie.
Rylie takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Lock holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Rylie tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Lock bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Rylie has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lock can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Rylie has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Rylie wants to sweep here but Lock controlling him for the moment.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rylie accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Ryan Rylie showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Lock's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Rylie feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Rylie seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Rylie throws a big right hand that misses.
Rylie not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Ryan Rylie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lock has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Rylie fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Lock checks it well.

Rylie manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Lock on his heels. He'll look to pass Lock's guard now, I'm sure.
Rylie slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Rylie advances position into side control!
Rylie just content to control the position.
Rylie creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Lock sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Rylie sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Lock is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Rylie shoots in and gets a takedown into Lock's guard.
Rylie is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Ryan Rylie comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Rylie has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
