The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benitez walks into a stiff left hand from Pacheco.
Pacheco throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pacheco connects with a single shot there.
Benitez with a poor takedown
and Pacheco counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Benitez takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Benitez is rocked!
Benitez fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Pacheco avoids it really well and circles away.
Benitez is still on wobbly legs! Can Pacheco finish him?
No luck for Benitez with that takedown attempt.
Benitez seems to have recovered his senses.
Gerardo Pacheco has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Agustin Benitez.

Pacheco lands a head shot.
Benitez takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Benitez tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pacheco swats him away and circles back towards the center.
It looked like Pacheco was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Benitez.

Pacheco cracks Benitez with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Benitez looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Pacheco finish him?
Pacheco throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Benitez's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Pacheco dives in looking to finish as Benitez flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Pacheco's strikes! Pacheco is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Benitez's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Benitez was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
