Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Steven Perkins (ranked 7944 p4p, 557 weight class) and Al Swearengen (ranked 4413 p4p, 405 weight class). Perkins comes to the cage accompanied by I'm in love with the coco. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Steven Perkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Al Swearengen!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Matti Vanhoillinen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Swearengen takes the fight into the clinch.
Perkins wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Perkins is trying to push Swearengen away but Swearengen has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Swearengen wants to take the fight to the mat but Perkins manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Perkins breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Perkins swings for the body but Swearengen moves out of range.

Swearengen rushes Perkins and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Swearengen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Perkins is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Swearengen asserts his dominance and retains side control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Swearengen tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Swearengen tries to advance to mount but Perkins instead regains half guard.
Well, if Swearengen is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Let's hope that Swearengen has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Swearengen wants to work for an arm triangle but Perkins is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Swearengen is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Perkins is just riding it out for now. Swearengen eventually gives up the hold.

Swearengen is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Perkins has escaped the position, nice work there.
Perkins is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Swearengen tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Swearengen has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

As Swearengen looks to move away, Perkins throws a big counter combo but Swearengen just gets out of the way.
Perkins misses with a jab, cross combination.
Perkins throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Perkins uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Swearengen.
Swearengen shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Swearengen clinches.

Swearengen has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Perkins clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Perkins manages to get to his feet, escaping the difficult position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Swearengen closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Swearengen is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Perkins can't fight it off and eventually Swearengen manages to take the fight to the floor. Perkins looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Swearengen is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Perkins has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Swearengen is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Perkins tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Swearengen was well out of range. Poor timing from Perkins.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Swearengen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Perkins is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Swearengen has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Perkins seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Swearengen can turn it around.

Perkins breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

I would just about give that final round to Al Swearengen.
