PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ikko Ikko (ranked 6460 p4p, 470 weight class) and Rambo Tan (ranked 6027 p4p, 461 weight class). Tan is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by He's a Pirate. Rambo Tan is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rambo Tan!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Eddie Farnsworth and Columbo Gatti.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ikko throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Tan was covering up waiting for the punch and Ikko finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Ikko looking to sit in guard and control but Tan gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Ikko has a closed guard, preventing Tan from standing up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tan wants to control from the top but Ikko keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ikko is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Ikko is striking off his back. Tan thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard.

Ikko pushes Tan off looking to stand but Tan dives back in and keeps control.

Tan tries for a kimura but Ikko is defending well.
Tan looks up at the clock and then as Ikko takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Tan smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Tan wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ikko, who protects the arm well.
Tan trying to control the position but Ikko is working away.
Ikko tries to bench press Tan off him but Tan keeps the position.

Tan in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Ikko is looking for a sweep.
Ikko is not content to let Tan control the position.
Tan in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Tan wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ikko, who protects the arm well.
Tan wants to stand but Ikko has his arm trapped.
Tan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ikko keeps working.
Tan misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Ikko is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Tan is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rambo Tan dominated that round.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Ikko.
Ikko tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Ikko is looking to take a break and control but Tan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tan sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Tan is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Ikko frees his head nicely. Oh but Tan has switched to an armbar! Ikko is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
