Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Heavy Rain (ranked 1177 p4p, 134 weight class) and Buck Steed (ranked 3570 p4p, 394 weight class). Rain's entrance music is For Heavy Metal we will die!. A fine choice. Heavy Rain has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Heavy Rain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Buck Steed!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Nard Betker and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rain throws a right hand that Steed ducks under and follows up with a left that Steed also avoids with ease.
Rain fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Steed takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Steed gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Rain.
A solid body kick from Rain.
Rain lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Rain moves out of range of the leg kick from Steed.
A head kick misses from Rain.
It seemed like Steed was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Steed walks forward, straight into a front kick from Rain.
Steed throws a jab but it's blocked by Rain.
Rain is looking to counter with a body kick.
Steed takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Steed takes a body punch but keeps moving.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Steed takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Rain lands a nice shot that snaps Steed's head back.

Steed uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rain.
Rain looks to land a combination but Steed avoids it well.
Rain lands a jab to the nose.
Rain lands a jab to Steed's midsection.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Rain.
Rain really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Rain lands with a nice body kick.
Rain's corner calls for a 1-2. Rain obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Rain throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Steed missing with a left hand there. Rain was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Rain jabs at Steed's body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rain thuds his right hand into Steed's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Rain pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Steed misses with a double jab
and Rain counters with a series of strikes. Steed will be more careful next time no doubt.
Rain scores with a decent looking hook.
Steed throws out a loose jab but Rain uses good head movement to avoid it.
Rain looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Rain cracks a nice hook into Steed's ribs.
Rain fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Steed manages to avoid it.
Steed now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Rain avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Rain lands a big head kick that sends Steed tumbling to the mat! Rain takes a step backwards and waves Steed back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Steed is rocked!


It looks like Buck Steed has been cut.
Steed misses with an uppercut.
Steed is still on wobbly legs! Can Rain finish him?
Rain moves into range and connects with a jab.
Rain looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
It seemed like Steed was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Steed blocks a head kick by Rain.
Steed unleashes a big counter combination but Rain bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Steed seems to have recovered his senses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A swing and a miss from Steed.
Rain throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Rain avoids the body shot from Steed.
Rain throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Steed with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Steed takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Nice shot lands for Rain.
Rain pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A slapping body kick lands there for Rain.
Rain is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Rain misses with a right hand
and Steed counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Rain connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Rain drops Steed with a beautiful combination! Steed stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Rain is looking for the KO!

Rain connects with a body shot.
Rain is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Rain scores with a crisp jab that stopped Steed in his tracks.
Rain tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Steed was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Steed ducks under a wild hook from Rain.

Rain lands a big uppercut and Steed crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Steed looks OK. Rain waves Steed back to his feet!
Rain lands a nice looking kick to the body. Steed takes a step back to recover.

Rain drops Steed with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Steed looks back up at him and smiles so Rain waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Rain misses with a body shot
and Steed counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Steed on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Heavy Rain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Steed takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Rain scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Rain misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Steed.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Heavy Rain dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Buck Steed's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Rain throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Steed takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Steed misses with an uppercut. Rain saw that one coming.
Rain lands with a hook. Steed tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Rain's corner calls for a 1-2. Rain obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Steed has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Rain.
Rain swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Rain takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Rain bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rain lands a body shot.
Steed takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Steed takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Steed misses with a hook to the body
and Rain counters with a slapping leg kick.
Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Steed might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Rain has got the better of the exchanges.

Rain cracks Steed with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Rain has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Steed to stand back up!
Rain tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Steed was well out of range. Poor timing from Rain.
Rain just misses with a punch to the body.
Rain connects with a right hand. Steed shakes it off.
Rain lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Steed falls backwards - clearly groggy! Rain dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Heavy Rain!
Heavy Rain tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
