The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Columbus lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.


It looks like Bob Skidopolopolous has been cut.
Skidopolopolous takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Skidopolopolous tries to stall but Columbus uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Columbus lands a right hand that snaps the head of Skidopolopolous backwards.

Skidopolopolous has Columbus pressed against the ropes, preventing Columbus from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Columbus scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Skidopolopolous is still on wobbly legs! Can Columbus finish him?

Skidopolopolous manages to break the clinch.
Columbus misses with a wild combination.
A little jabbing left from Skidopolopolous on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Columbus looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Columbus throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Skidopolopolous seems to have recovered his senses.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Skidopolopolous moves out of range of the body kick from Columbus.
Skidopolopolous is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Skidopolopolous will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That has opened up Bob Skidopolopolous's cut even more.
Columbus swings widly with a right hand
and Skidopolopolous counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Columbus's jab looks to have found its range, popping Skidopolopolous under the eye.

Columbus ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Columbus cracks Skidopolopolous with a perfect right hand that drops him to the mat! Skidopolopolous is sitting up but I can't see if he's OK from my position. The referee's count has reached 5,6,7 and Skidopolopolous is still not up. Can he make it? 8,9, he's up! Wow, he cut that one a bit fine!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Columbus catches his opponent with a big hook that sends him to the canvas! Skidopolopolous stumbles back to his feet but will the referee allow it to continue? Skidopolopolous walks forwards and this one will be allowed to continue! Come on!


The cut above Bob Skidopolopolous's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Columbus connects with a picture perfect right hand that knocks Skidopolopolous out cold! This one is over in a flash!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Scott Columbus!
After winning the bout, Scott Columbus thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
