Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jason Rage (ranked 882 p4p, 145 weight class) and Galloway Sackett (ranked 1034 p4p, 167 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Rage might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to For Heavy Metal we will die!. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Rage!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Galloway Sackett!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sackett throws a leg kick which misses Rage's front leg but catches the back leg as Rage tries to avoid it.

Rage dives in and scores a takedown into Sackett's guard.
Rage postures up in Sackett's guard and throws a big left but Sackett blocks it.
Rage throws a big right hand that misses.
Rage postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Sackett has momentary wrist control but Rage slips an elbow through the middle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rage throws a strike but Sackett rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Rage is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Sackett is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Sackett got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rage has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sackett has managed to get both his arms back between Rage's legs - danger averted.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sackett controls from within his opponent's guard.
Sackett must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Rage working for submissions but it's allowed Sackett to get to half guard.
Rage is trying to maintain the position but Sackett is very close to passing his half guard.
Rage gets back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Sackett controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Rage is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Rage lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Rage makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Rage throws a strike but Sackett rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Rage working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sackett doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sackett manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Rage has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Sackett should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Rage has tightened it up now! Sackett should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Jason Rage was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
