PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Lee (ranked 7800 p4p, 551 weight class) and Blayze Sommer (ranked 3812 p4p, 372 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Jeff Smith and Ryoma Takatsuka.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sommer does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Lee dives in for a single leg takedown but Sommer sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the ropes.
Sommer's coach down at Makoa - Hilo Cheapest Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Sommer's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

The referee calls for Sommer to work.

Sommer presses Lee against the ropes and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Sommer gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Lee.
Lee has Sommer pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. Sommer manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Sommer dips a shoulder and cracks Lee with a mighty uppercut! Lee falls back against the ropes and Sommer unloads with a barrage of strikes! Lee is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the ropes! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Sommer screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
