Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brock Barnett (ranked 3428 p4p, 0 weight class) and Staph Aureus (ranked 2910 p4p, 94 weight class). Staph Aureus has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 29 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brock Barnett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 39 - 40 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Staph Aureus!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Jonathan Paton and Reed Andrews.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aureus pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Barnett tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Aureus defends well and Barnett ends up having to push Aureus into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Barnett fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Aureus, pushing him back against the cage.
Aureus lands a nice uppercut.

It looks like Brock Barnett has been cut.

Barnett manages to break the clinch.
Barnett looks for a takedown but Aureus sprawls well.

Barnett drives through with a takedown into guard.

Barnett postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Aureus is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Barnett, into his guard.

Aureus stands up over Barnett, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Aureus got a little sloppy there for a moment and Barnett has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Aureus has managed to get both his arms back between Barnett's legs - danger averted.

Barnett has his foot on Aureus's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Aureus works his way back into a safe position though.

Barnett escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Aureus gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Aureus connects with a couple of short punches.

Barnett throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Aureus escapes and throws Barnett's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Aureus cracks Barnett with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Aureus immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Barnett is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Aureus!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Staph Aureus!
During a confident post fight interview, Staph Aureus thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
