Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Dupuis (ranked 5811 p4p, 624 weight class) and Viesturs Kraulins (ranked 4371 p4p, 531 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Dupuis might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Out For A Rip. On his way into the cage it seems that David Dupuis has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily David Dupuis seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, David Dupuis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Viesturs Kraulins!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kraulins fails with a takedown attempt.

Dupuis clinches up with Kraulins and pushes him back against the cage.
A nice left hand lands by Dupuis.


It looks like Viesturs Kraulins has been cut.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Dupuis throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Kraulinss head.

Kraulins is working for takedown but Dupuis is calmly controlling the position for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dupuis is pressed up against the cage. Kraulins has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Dupuis down to the mat. Dupuis avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Kraulins should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kraulins is looking to take this one to the mat.
Kraulins has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Dupuis is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Dupuis lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Kraulins backwards.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Dupuis obliges.

Dupuis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Dupuis closes the distance and pushes Kraulins back into the cage.
Kraulins drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Dupuis gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Dupuis manages to break the clinch.
David Dupuis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dupuis cracks Kraulins with a right hand to the side of the head.

Dupuis instigates a clinch.

Dupuis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
David Dupuis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Dupuis throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kraulins.
Kraulins steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Dupuis.

Kraulins goes for a double leg but Dupuis avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Dupuis continues to drive forward.

letting Dupuis counter with a right hand.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kraulins avoids the body shot from Dupuis.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Kraulins.
Dupuis throws a quick counter head kick but Kraulins was just out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kraulins is rocked!


That has opened up Viesturs Kraulins's cut even more.
Dupuis slowing the pace effectively.
Kraulins is still on wobbly legs! Can Dupuis finish him?
Dupuis is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Dupuis for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.
Dupuis dips a shoulder and cracks Kraulins with a mighty uppercut! Kraulins falls back against the cage and Dupuis unloads with a barrage of strikes! Kraulins is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Dupuis screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). David Dupuis!
