Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 18 - 1, fighting out of New York, Gaudencio Roman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Beast Rage!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roman takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Rage clinches.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Roman.
Rage tries to break free but Roman pushes him back against the cage.
Roman gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Rage.
Rage jumps guard but Roman turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Rage pulls guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rage tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Roman slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Roman is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Rage wants to sweep but no luck.
Roman might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Rage is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Roman defends well.
Roman stays in close to Rage's body and controls the position.
Roman postures up and lands a big shot to Rage's brow.

Roman seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Rage for as long as he can get away with.
Roman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Rage is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Roman is aware though and is defending well.

The referee asks Roman politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Roman prefers to stall for the moment though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rage keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Rage swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Roman lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Roman fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Roman takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Roman's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rage is defended easily by Roman.
Rage shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Roman sprawls well. Roman wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rage gets slowly back to his feet.
Gaudencio Roman is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Rage misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Gaudencio Roman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Beast Rage.
Roman lands with a shot to the body.
Roman throws a nice inside leg kick.
Roman lands a leg kick that knocks Rage off balance momentarily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Roman cracks the inside of Rage's front leg.
Rage tries to score a power double leg takedown but Roman sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rage somewhat.
Roman is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Rage can do to turn this around?

That kick from Roman tenderised Rage's leg. Rage is trying to keep his angry face on.

Rage closes the distance and pushes Roman back into the cage.
Rage tries to break the clinch but Roman is controlling the position.
Rage has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Roman after a bit of a struggle.
Rage is breathing heavily.
Roman lands an elbow inside that Rage shrugs off.


It looks like Beast Rage has been cut.
Roman softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Rage tries to land knees in the clinch but Roman avoids the damage to the body.
Rage looking to slow down the pace here.
Rage jumps guard but Roman stands there with Rage around his waist. Rage gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Roman creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Rage's defenses.
Nice body punch from Roman - that landed with a thud.

Roman gets a trip takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Roman is thwarting Rage's attempts to control the position.

Roman tries to pass to full mount but Rage defends it.
Roman is working hard here to advance position.
Gaudencio Roman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Rage on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Roman seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Rage tries to roll over but Roman keeps him under control.
Roman keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Roman seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Rage is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
