The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nurmagomedov has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Pepper finds it's way round the side to connect with Nurmagomedov's head.

It looks like Khabib Nurmagomedov has been cut.
Nurmagomedov throws a looping overhand right but Pepper ducks down to avoid it.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Pepper! But no joy.
Pepper misses with a straight right.
Pepper avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Nurmagomedov scores with a jab to the head.
Nurmagomedov throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Pepper sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Pepper digs a good hook to Nurmagomedov's body.
Nurmagomedov avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Nurmagomedov thinks about countering with a body kick.
Pepper takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Nurmagomedov throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Pepper takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
We've been informed that Pepper has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Pepper cracks Nurmagomedov with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Ryan Pepper seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pepper misses with an uppercut. Nurmagomedov saw that one coming.

Nurmagomedov closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Pepper! Nurmagomedov dives in looking to finish! Pepper is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
