PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mario Jose Binay (ranked 4280 p4p, 0 weight class) and Erik Hiller (ranked 6761 p4p, 0 weight class). Hiller has chosen Rush and Run - Shake and Jump as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Binay just misses with a punch to the body.
Hiller shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Binay sprawls well. Binay wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hiller gets slowly back to his feet.
Hiller bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Binay tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hiller was well out of range. Poor timing from Binay.
Binay tries to score with a low kick but Hiller moves his leg out of the way.
Binay throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Binay. Hiller shrugs it off though.
Binay cracks Hiller with a right hand to the side of the head.

Hiller throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Binay tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hiller is in Binay's guard.

Binay has his feet on Hiller's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Binay connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Hiller's hands.

Hiller tries to score a power double leg takedown but Binay sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hiller somewhat.

Hiller throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Binay's waist but Binay gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hiller off to one side.

Hiller lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mario Jose Binay.
I think Hiller has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
