And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eddie Malingo!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Reed Andrews and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Michael looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Michael looks to land a right hand but Malingo moved out of range.
Michael misses with a looping right.
Balbus Michael seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Michael misses with a jab, cross combination.
Michael throws a predictable looking body shot
and Malingo counters with a nice uppercut.
Michael works Malingo's body with a nice hook.
Malingo steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Michael.
Michael misses with an uppercut.
Michael throws a head kick but Malingo moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Michael misses the shot to the body.
Michael throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Malingo was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Michael lands a nice leg kick that just misses Malingo's sensitive parts.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Michael throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Malingo's head.


It looks like Eddie Malingo has been cut.
Michael tries to clinch

so Malingo counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Michael had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Malingo defends it easily.

Michael looking for a guillotine here but Malingo defends easily.
Michael avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Malingo drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Michael dives on top into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Malingo is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Malingo looking for a sweep. Not yet Malingo, not yet.
Michael trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Michael is sitting in close to Malingo's body. Malingo has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Michael is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Michael is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Malingo.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Eddie Malingo!
