Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hans Hammar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dave Monson!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Roosa Järviläinen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Monson.
Hammar appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Hammar fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Monson manages to avoid it.
Hammar definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Monson finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Hammar stuffs the takedown attempt from Monson. Monson gets slowly back to his feet.
Monson shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Monson misses with a takedown attempt - Hammar sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Hammar throws a jab but it's blocked by Monson.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hammar misses with a body shot.
Monson scoring well with a low kick there.
Monson throws a body kick that misses.
An attempted straight right counter from Hammar misses the target.
Hammar throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Hammar misses with the combination.

Monson steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Hammar.
Monson shoots in and drives through. Hammar sprawls well.
Hans Hammar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dave Monson.
Hammar ducks under a wild hook from Monson.
A jab from Hammar misses.

Monson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Monson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Hammar has managed to free his arm - good work.

Monson is looking for a kimura but Hammar is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Monson to get the leverage.

Monson seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Hammar is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

In his post fight interview, Dave Monson started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
