Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Hud Vash (ranked 3645 p4p, 338 weight class) and Cadell Rees (ranked 5442 p4p, 458 weight class). Hud Vash has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hud Vash!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Cadell Rees!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Micheangelo Fripello and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Rees looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Rees takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Vash lands the left hand.

Rees gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Rees throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Rees wants to get back to striking at distance but Vash won't allow it.
Vash struggles to land a body shot inside as Rees controls his hands.
Rees's coach down at FIERCE {{$500/wk}} was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Rees's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Rees tries to circle away but Vash has him pinned against the cage.
Vash avoiding damage as Rees throws knees to the body.
Vash goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Vash prevents Rees from breaking the clinch.

Cadell Rees seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vash scores with a jab. Rees acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Vash looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Rees lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Vash has taken the fight to the clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Vash fails to land.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Vash.
Rees tries a body shot but Vash blocks it.

Vash controlling the position.
Rees has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Vash is proving hard to escape from.
Rees must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Vash had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rees defends it easily.

Rees misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Rees stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Vash.

Rees tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Vash manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Vash throws a hook to the side of Rees's head but Rees sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

A slow jab from Vash misses its intended target.
A little jabbing left from Rees on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Vash throws a shot from downtown. Rees moves away and avoids it.
Vash jabs Rees to the body, keeping him at a distance.

and Vash counters with a nice uppercut.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Vash lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Rees to his knees! Vash keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
