Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Gracie (ranked 4850 p4p, 503 weight class) and Paul Walker (ranked 8965 p4p, 701 weight class). Ricardo Gracie could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Paul Walker's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ricardo Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Paul Walker!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gracie forces Walker back against the cage and clinches.
Gracie avoiding damage as Walker throws knees to the body.
Gracie tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Gracie swings away with an uppercut that misses.
A frustrated look appears on Walker's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Gracie throws a head punch that misses.
Walker is trying to pull guard but Gracie has him pressed against the cage.
Gracie lands a body shot.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Gracie.
Walker looks winded!
Gracie throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Walkers head.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Gracie.
Walker blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Gracie lands with a left to the head.
Walker is trying to break free.

Gracie has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Walker regains guard immediately.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Gracie is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Walker postures up in Gracie's guard and throws a big left but Gracie blocks it.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Gracie rushes Walker and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Walker is trying to control the position but Gracie postures up.
Gracie sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Walker's guard.
Walker is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Gracie wants to control but Walker is keeping him busy.

Gracie is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Gracie is trying to control the action in half guard but Walker is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Walker tries to roll over but Gracie keeps him under control.

Gracie is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Walker to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Walker shrugs it off.
Walker is controlling an arm, preventing Gracie from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Walker regains half guard.

Gracie is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Walker defends it well.

Walker is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Gracie pulls his head out easily.
Walker is staying active underneath Gracie, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Gracie is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Walker can do to turn this around?
Walker is controlling Gracie's trapped leg to prevent Gracie from advancing to side control.

Gracie seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Walker does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

A little feinted left hand from Gracie on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Gracie wants the takedown. Walker is fighting it off but Gracie persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Walker's guard against the cage.

Walker has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gracie can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

We've been hearing good reports from Gracie's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Gracie moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Walker has worked his arm free - good work by Walker!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Gracie seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Walker for as long as he can get away with.
Gracie continues to stall.
Gracie has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Paul Walker has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

This is a sustained period of stalling by Gracie.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gracie, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
