Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Soul Shadow (ranked 3595 p4p, 72 weight class) and Gosha Lopez (ranked 4778 p4p, 95 weight class). Lopez has chosen Sho Z-pod duba as his entrance music. Soul Shadow has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shadow takes a swing at Lopez's ribcage but misses.
Lopez tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Lopez takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Shadow lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Lopez has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Lopez and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
A countering left hand to the body from Lopez misses.
Lopez staying out of range there.
Lopez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
It looked like Shadow wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Shadow looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Some wild striking there from Lopez.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lopez takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

Shadow showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Lopez.

Lopez changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Shadow looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shadow tries to buck Lopez off but Lopez is having none of it.

Lopez is trying to get an arm triangle but Shadow is defending well.
Shadow regains half guard there - taking advantage of Lopez's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Lopez wants to take a breather but Shadow is having none of it.

Shadow wants to control but Lopez is keeping busy.
Shadow is not content to let Lopez control the position.
Shadow has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lopez is working away from the top position though.
Shadow is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Shadow won't allow Lopez to pass to mount.
Lopez not doing much here.

Lopez wants to work for an arm triangle but Shadow is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Shadow wants to get back to full guard.
My spies in Holding Cell inform me that Lopez has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Shadow is not content to let Lopez control the position.
Shadow is positioning himself well to prevent Lopez advancing to mount.

Lopez is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Shadow still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Shadow has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
Shadow controls the position.

Shadow wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lopez keeps working.
Lopez is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Lopez tries to get to full guard but Shadow has control of the leg.
Lopez keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Shadow content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Soul Shadow will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Lopez closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Shadow is doing well to control the position and prevent Lopez from advancing to side control.
Shadow is trying to get back to full guard.

Lopez is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Well, if Lopez is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Shadow is looking to sweep but instead, Lopez has passed into half guard.
Lopez works his foot free and advances to mount.

Lopez is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Lopez!
