Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Bernie Martin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Corey Red!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Paul Tew and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Red closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Red's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Red tries for a takedown but Martin manages to get underhooks.
Red wants to break free but Martin has control.
Red is trying to break free.
Martin tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Red just stands there and leans against the cage.
Red is trying to drag Martin to the mat but Martin just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Red prevents a takedown attempt there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Red jumps guard but Martin turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Bernie Martin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Corey Red.
Martin prevents Red from breaking the clinch.

Red throwing strikes from guard but Martin blocks nicely.

Red is fighting to break Martin's control of his arms but Martin is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Red shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Martin manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Red wants to stand but Martin is controlling his posture from full guard.

Red postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Martin wants to sweep but no luck.
Martin keeping moving, preventing Red from controlling successfully.

Red got a little sloppy there for a moment and Martin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Red has managed to get both his arms back between Martin's legs - danger averted.

Red stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Red shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Martin as he avoids it easily.
Martin misses with a takedown

and Red counters by moving into the clinch.
Martin is pressed up against the cage. Red has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Martin down to the mat. Martin avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Red takes the fight into the clinch.

Martin jumps guard.

Martin is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Red trying to control but Martin is working from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Red looks winded!
Martin pulls Red in close to prevent any damage.
Martin keeping moving, preventing Red from controlling successfully.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Corey Red will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Red fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Martin, pushing him back against the cage.
Martin scores with a shot to the side of Red's head.
Come on Martin - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Red drags the fight down to the ground.
Red wants to stand but Martin is controlling the position.

Martin decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Martin looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Martin moves into range and clinches up with Red.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Red lands with a left to the head.
A bit of stalling here from Martin.
Martin will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Red up against the cage.
Red tries to break free but Martin pushes him back against the cage.
Martin stalling in the clinch.
Red wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Red is trying to push Martin away but Martin has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Red has clasped his hands together around Martin's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Martin is trying to improve his position.

Martin explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

Martin drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Martin stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Red is breathing heavily.
Danga de danga de dang - Red scores with a four punch combination!
Red swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Martin throwing a counter right hand but Red manages to avoid it.
Martin misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Martin fails with the takedown
and Red counters with a left and a right that stings Martin.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bernie Martin. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Red instigates a clinch.
Red working hard to break the clinch.
Come on Martin - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Red is trying to break the clinch but Martin is controlling him.
The referee calls for Martin to work.

Martin jumps guard and drags Red to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Red trying to control the position from guard on top but Martin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Red is looking to work some ground and pound but Martin has wrist control.

Martin looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Red trying to control but Martin is working from the bottom.
Martin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Red is one step ahead there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Corey Red will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Red with a lazy takedown attempt
and Martin counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Red clinches.
Martin dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Martin jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Red walks away with a smile on his face. Martin gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Bernie Martin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Red shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Martin but Martin pushes him off and we're back to square one.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Martin drags the fight down to the ground.
Red wants to control from the top but Martin keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Red prevents Martin from getting back to his feet.

Martin is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Red trying to control but Martin is working from the bottom.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Martin is working an open guard so Red takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Red throws a right and a left that both miss.
Martin is looking to counter punch.
Martin tries to score a power double leg takedown but Red sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Martin somewhat.
Martin ducks right into an uppercut from Red.

Red misses with a two punch combination.
Martin is looking for a counter combo.
Red takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Red throws a right and a left that both miss.
Martin appears to be looking for a big counter.

Martin clinches up against the cage.

Martin manages to break the clinch.

Red closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Red wants to get back to striking at distance but Martin won't allow it.

Red missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Martin bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Red's guard.


Martin stands and steps away. Red gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Bernie Martin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Corey Red.
Martin has Red pressed against the cage, preventing Red from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

This has been an exciting period of action!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Martin wants to sweep here but Red controlling him for the moment.
Bernie Martin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
