Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Apollo Reid (ranked 6405 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Bengala (ranked 6899 p4p, 0 weight class). Reid comes into the arena with Living in America by James Brown blaring out of the sound system. Apollo Reid has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reid fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Bengala.
A thudding body kick lands there by Reid!
Reid scores with a kick to the midsection.
Reid doesn't manage to clinch there - Bengala circles away.
Reid swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Reid ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bengala moves away.
Reid wants to clinch.
Bengala is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Reid darts in and clinches Bengala up against the cage.
Reid unloads a knee to the mid-section. Bengala lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bengala tries to break free but Reid pushes him back against the cage.
Reid is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Bengala is defending well for now.

Reid's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Reid lands a big head kick that sends Bengala tumbling to the mat! Reid takes a step backwards and waves Bengala back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Gabriel Bengala has been cut.
Reid is really turning it up, unleashing another crisp combination which drops Bengala like a ton of bricks! The referee dives in to stop the fight, saving Bengala from another fist facial!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Apollo Reid!
In his post fight interview, Apollo Reid gave a big smile as he said 'Get lost chump!'.
