Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Frank (ranked 24877 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pedro Pete (ranked 8800 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ivan Frank!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pedro Pete!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Ian Loll and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pete closes the distance and pushes Frank back into the cage.

Pete pulls Frank into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Pete pulls Frank in close to prevent any damage.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pete can do anything to dispel that myth.
Frank trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Pete holds on and takes a little breather.
Pete looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Pete bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Frank's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pete is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Frank tries to strike from the bottom.

Pete is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Frank throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Frank can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Pete controls the pace.
Pete's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Frank is working an open guard so Pete takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Pete looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Frank is looking for a triangle here but Pete uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pete takes a little break here. Frank wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Pete lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Pete taking a breather here.

Pete working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Pete is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Frank's shoulder. That is not cool.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pete in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

Frank throws a few rabbit punches from the bottom. Pete was waiting for it though - now Frank's arm is in the perfect position for an arm triangle - he's tightening it up and Frank is forced to tap out before he takes a nap! Very clever counter grappling there from Pete!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Pedro Pete!
