PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Haywood Jablowme (ranked 24445 p4p, 599 weight class) and Joe Shahen (ranked 5178 p4p, 455 weight class). Jablowme comes to the cage accompanied by Kill it with kindness. Joe Shahen is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Haywood Jablowme!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Joe Shahen!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Micheangelo Fripello and Chris Saunders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Shahen.
An inside leg kick lands from Shahen.

Jablowme darts in and clinches Shahen up against the cage.

Shahen manages to break the clinch.
Jablowme looks to land a body kick but Shahen moved away.
Jablowme fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Shahen throws a counter combo.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jablowme throws a sloppy head kick and Shahen moves out of range easily.
Despite the aggression on Shahen's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Jablowme throws a body punch but Shahen moves out of range.

Shahen moves into the clinch successfully.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Shahen pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Shahen defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Jablowme.

Jablowme closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Jablowme will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Shahen has one foot on Jablowme's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Jablowme clinches up with Shahen and pushes him back against the cage.
Shahen with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.

Shahen pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jablowme misses with a hook to the body

and Shahen counters with a series of strikes that sends Jablowme to the canvas! Shahen follows down into guard, looking to finish the fight!

Jablowme is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jablowme looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Oh Jablowme is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Jablowme is working an open guard so Shahen takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

and Shahen counters with a nice body kick.
Jablowme is breathing heavily.
Jablowme is keeping his hands low and just asking to be knocked out. Shahen Raises his leg and lands a stunning axe kick! Jablowme is out cold, face down on the mat!
