PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dom Willis (ranked 2652 p4p, 268 weight class) and Brandon Stark (ranked 17708 p4p, 640 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stark has Willis up against the cage in a clinch.
A right handed body shot lands from Willis.
Stark blocks a punch to the side of the head.
A right hook to the body lands for Willis.
Willis tries to land a knee to the head but Stark blocks with his arms.
Stark tries to pull guard but Willis holds him up against the cage and eventually Stark drops back down to his feet.
Willis makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Stark with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Stark is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Willis is defending well.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Willis.
Willis misses with a punch to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Willis tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Stark avoids it.
Willis misses with a hook to the ribs.
Stark prevents a body shot from Willis.

Stark is fighting off a takedown attempt but Willis is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Stark to the mat. Stark regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Stark is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Willis postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Willis with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Willis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Willis passes Stark's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Willis is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Stark!
Stark keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Willis scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Stark?
Willis lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Stark is rocked!
Willis unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Stark wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Willis celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
