Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Trenchard!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson looks to land a combination but Trenchard avoids it well.
Jackson takes a swing at Trenchard's ribcage but misses.
Trenchard avoids the head kick by Jackson.
Jackson throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Jackson throws a push kick but Trenchard slaps the foot to one side.
Jackson looks to land a combination but Trenchard avoids it well.
Jackson shoots for a double leg takedown but Trenchard sprawls well. He's pushed Jackson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Trenchard tries to counter by closing the distance.
Jackson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Trenchard manages to avoid it.

Trenchard feints and as Jackson raises his hands in defense, Trenchard changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jackson wants to get back to his feet but Trenchard is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Trenchard stands and steps away. Jackson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Trenchard paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Trenchard looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Jackson kicks off Trenchard and gets to his feet.

Trenchard closes the distance and pushes Jackson back into the cage.

Jackson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Jackson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Trenchard to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jackson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Trenchard loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Jackson pulls Trenchard in close to his closed guard and prevents Trenchard from doing any damage or advancing position.
Trenchard trying to control but Jackson is working from the bottom.
Jackson is breathing heavily.
Jackson wants to get back to his feet but Trenchard is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Trenchard missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Trenchard has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jackson misses with a series of wild punches.

Jackson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Trenchard circles away.

Trenchard manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Jackson on his heels. He'll look to pass Jackson's guard now, I'm sure.
Trenchard stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jackson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Trenchard won't allow Jackson to sweep him here.

Trenchard is in close to Jackson's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Trenchard decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Trenchard feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Trenchard is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Trenchard stands up over Jackson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Trenchard stands up and waves to Jackson to follow him.
Trenchard misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

As Trenchard looks to move away, Jackson throws a big counter combo but Trenchard just gets out of the way.
Trenchard shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jackson pinned against the cage. Jackson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jackson throws a big counter combination but Trenchard scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
David Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Trenchard.
Trenchard looks to land a body kick but Jackson moved away.
Jackson swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

Trenchard drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Trenchard seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

David Jackson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Trenchard shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Jackson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Jackson tries to sprawl but Trenchard drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Trenchard is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Jackson is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

In his post fight interview, James Trenchard started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
