The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monk avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Monk looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Kruger lets loose with a powerful body kick. Monk will feel that in the morning.
Monk has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Monk misses with a straight right.
Kruger throws a low kick, looking for Monk's leg but Monk calmly moves out of range.
Kruger avoids the body shot from Monk.
Kruger tries to clinch up.
Kruger has been working on his boxing with his coaches at The Wild Beasts Zoo in the buildup to the fight.
Monk shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Kruger takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Kruger is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Monk throws a jab but it's blocked by Kruger.

Monk buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Kruger throws a hook but Monk blocks it.
Kruger misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Monk.
Kruger connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Kruger swings widly with a right hand
and Monk counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Monk throws an overhand right that lands on Kruger's shoulder, as Kruger tries to avoid the shot.
Dustin Kruger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Monk takes a swing at Kruger's ribcage but misses.
Kruger throws a body kick that misses.
Monk throws a sloppy head kick and Kruger moves out of range easily.

Kruger swings away with a leg kick that misses.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Monk connects with a leg kick. Kruger looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Monk cracks Kruger with an open hand slap.
Monk buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kruger. Monk does a little dance to reset his feet.
Kruger misses with a shot to the body
and Monk counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Monk misses with an uppercut. Kruger saw that one coming.
Kruger misses with a body punch
and Monk makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Kruger really felt that one!
Monk throws a body punch but Kruger moves out of range.
Monk tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Monk ducks under a wild hook from Kruger.
An inside leg kick lands from Monk.
Kruger goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kruger misses the shot to the body.
Kruger is looking to slow Monk down with leg kicks.
Monk slips under a jab.
A lazy body kick from Monk
and Kruger counters with a body kick that stops Monk in his tracks momentarily.
Monk keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Monk takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Kruger scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Kruger misses the shot to the body.
Monk is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Kruger rather than just go for the knockout.
Kruger looks to score with a jab to the body but Monk is just out of range.
Kruger moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromMonk.

Monk flicks out a counter leg kick but Kruger steps away.
Kruger misses with a low kick as Monk jumps back.
Kruger tries to work over Monk's front leg with a kick but Monk checks it.
Monk connects with a body shot that sends Kruger's belly button to the back.

Kruger swings for the body but Monk moves out of range.
Monk sizes up Kruger with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Kruger blocks a jab.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Monk takes one to the side of the head.
Monk keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kruger.
Kruger misses with a jab to the body
and Monk counters with a nice uppercut.
Kruger swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Kruger throws a push kick but Monk slaps the foot to one side.
Kruger swings for the body but Monk moves out of range.
Kruger throws a leg kick
and Monk counters with a nice uppercut.
Kruger tries to land a front kick but Monk steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Kruger tests Monk's chin there with a solid looking shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Silas Monk will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

and Monk counters with a nice right hand that sends Kruger toppling to the canvas! Kruger scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Monk finish him?!

Kruger is rocked!
Monk takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Oh Kruger is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kruger lands a leg kick that knocks Monk off balance momentarily.
Kruger is looking to land body kicks.
Monk appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Kruger seems to have got his legs back now.
Kruger swings away with a body shot that misses

and Monk counters with a crisp right hand that drops Kruger! Monk lets Kruger back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Kruger throws an off balance right hand
and Monk counters with a right hand from hell and Kruger is out cold! A vicious knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Silas Monk!
Silas Monk decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
