The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Donnelly looks to throw a body kick
and Bakiyev counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Donnelly thinking.
Donnelly misses with a straight right.
Donnelly scores with a punch to the head.
Bakiyev takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Bakiyev looks to score with a jab to the body but Donnelly is just out of range.
Bakiyev defending well as Donnelly loads up on a big left hand.
Donnelly bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Donnelly lands a really nice looking cross but Bakiyev seems unphased.
Donnelly scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Bakiyev moves out of range of the strikes.
Bakiyev now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Donnelly misses with a hook to the body
and Bakiyev counters with a straight right hand.
Bakiyev looks to score with a jab to the body but Donnelly is just out of range.
Bakiyev takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Donnelly works the jab nicely.
Bakiyev takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Bakiyev is rocked!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Donnelly throws a nice outside leg kick.
Bakiyev is still on wobbly legs! Can Donnelly finish him?
Donnelly seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
A looping hook to the body misses from Donnelly. Bakiyev does a little dance to reset his feet.
Donnelly misses with a shot to the body
and Bakiyev counters with a nice body shot.
Donnelly does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Bakiyev throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Donnelly counters with a crisp right that sends Bakiyev to the canvas! Donnelly follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Liam Donnelly!
