The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sanders tries to sprawl but Kaplog drives through with a takedown into half guard.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kaplog lands a nice short elbow.
Kaplog lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Kaplog sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Sanders defending well though.
Kaplog throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Sanders has hold of Kaplog's hands but Kaplog slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Kaplog slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Kaplog closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Sanders quickly recovers to half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kaplog connects with a nice short shot to Sanders's temple.
Kaplog looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Sanders with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Sanders is rocked!
Kaplog is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Sanders is hurt! He's hurt bad - Kaplog fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Sanders from any more punishment! Congratulations to Kaplog! Great finish!
