Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Franco Micheli (ranked 6490 p4p, 514 weight class) and Pedro Pete (ranked 5500 p4p, 481 weight class). Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Franco Micheli!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pedro Pete!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Frank Dennis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pete gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Pete looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Micheli lands a knee to the body.
Micheli jumps guard but Pete turns him against the ropes and keeps the fight standing.

Micheli ties up his opponent against the ropes and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Micheli no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Micheli looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Pete passes into half guard.
Pete looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Micheli is trying to maintain the position but Pete is very close to passing his half guard.
Micheli is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pete seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Pete working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Micheli on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Micheli wants to improve his position but Pete is controlling well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Micheli is trying to control but can't.

Pete escapes and gets back to his feet.
Micheli is looking to clinch but Pete is avoiding it.
Micheli will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Micheli misses with a takedown attempt - Pete sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Micheli fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Micheli drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Micheli changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Pete fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Micheli struggles to land a body shot inside as Pete controls his hands.
Pete gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Micheli.
Micheli keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Pete's efforts to push away.
Pete is trying to pull guard but Micheli has him pressed against the ropes.

Micheli wants a takedown.

A frustrated look appears on Micheli's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Micheli can't get the takedown.
Pete stops a takedown attempt from Micheli.

Pete lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Pete stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Pete shoots in for a takedown but Micheli shows good takedown defense.
Micheli tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Pete defends well and Micheli ends up having to push Pete into the ropes where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Micheli is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Pete unleashes a big counter combination but Micheli bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Micheli shoots in and drives through. Pete sprawls well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Pete feints and as Micheli raises his hands in defense, Pete changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Micheli is wriggling around but Pete manages to pass to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pedro Pete showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Pete fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Pete shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Micheli pinned against the ropes. Micheli gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Micheli tries to keep at a distance but Pete has taken the fight into the clinch.

Micheli pulls guard.

Pete is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Micheli had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Pete defends it easily.

Pete landing some decent shots from guard.
Pete controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Micheli thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Micheli on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Micheli tries to get out of the position.

Pete decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Micheli, up you get!

Pete shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Pete was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Pete is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Micheli is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
