PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hulk Hogan (ranked 3844 p4p, 125 weight class) and Theodore Van Anderson (ranked 5656 p4p, 191 weight class). Hogan comes into the arena with Real american blaring out of the sound system. Theodore Van Anderson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hulk Hogan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Theodore Van Anderson!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Anderson shoots for a takedown but Hogan saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Van Anderson tries to clinch up.
Nice takedown defense from Hogan. No joy for Van Anderson on that attempt.
Hogan tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Van Anderson manages to circle out of the way.
Van Anderson stalks Hogan and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Hogan's face. Hogan staggers backwards, shaken.


It looks like Hulk Hogan has been cut.
Hogan definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Hogan takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Hogan fails with a takedown attempt.
Van Anderson tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Van Anderson throws a one two combo.

Hogan pushes Van Anderson up against the ropes in a clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Van Anderson is trying to push Hogan away but Hogan has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere.
Van Anderson is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes.

Hogan gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Hogan working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Hogan prevents Van Anderson from improving his position.

Hogan is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Van Anderson is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Hulk Hogan!
