Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Washe Lay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Bobo Nielsen!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Arvi Lind and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Nielsen.
Lay fails with an attempt to clinch.
Nielsen misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Nielsen thuds a left hand into Lay's body.
Lay tries to clinch up
and Nielsen counters with a nice uppercut.
Lay tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Nielsen makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lay shoots in but no luck this time.
Nielsen swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Lay definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Nielsen missing with a left hand there. Lay was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lay is defended easily by Nielsen.
Washe Lay seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lay tries for a takedown but Nielsen sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Washe Lay. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lay throws a head kick that misses
and Nielsen counters with a straight right hand.

A short uppercut from Nielsen.

Lay looking to throw knees to the head but Nielsen is blocking nicely.
Nielsen digs a right hand underneath Lay's ribcage. Lay let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Lay tries to land knees in the clinch but Nielsen avoids the damage to the body.
Nielsen lands a left hand.
Lay throws a knee to the head but misses.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Nielsen has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Nielsen's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Nielsen lands a left hand that snaps the head of Lay backwards.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Lay obliges.
Nielsen works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Lay using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Nielsen has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Lay is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Lay throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Nielsen blocks it with crossed arms.

Lay utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
Nielsen keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Lay's efforts to push away.
The referee is keeping an eye on Nielsen - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Nielsen lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Nielsen is working Lay over against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bobo Nielsen dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


A nice inside leg kick there by Nielsen. That's going to slow Lay down.
Nielsen lands with a kick to the temple. Lay shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Oh Lay is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Lay clinches up against the cage.
Lay seems to have got his legs back now.
Nielsen slowing the pace effectively.
Lay wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Bobo Nielsen seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
A nice left hand lands by Nielsen.
Nielsen on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Lay fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Lay's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
A jab from Nielsen does it's job there.
Nielsen slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Lay moves in looking to clinch but Nielsen pushes him off.
A countering left hand to the body from Nielsen misses.

Nielsen steps into range and cracks Lay with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Lay flops backwards and Nielsen dives into his guard looking to finish!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lay wants to stand up but Nielsen is controlling him.

Nielsen's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Lay is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Nielsen is controlling him.
Nielsen postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Nielsen seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Lay moves forwards but Nielsen connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Nielsen connects with a leg kick. Lay looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Lay looks to score with a jab to the body but Nielsen is just out of range.
Nielsen misses the shot to the body.
Nielsen dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Lay tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Nielsen paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Lay misses with a head kick.

Nielsen cracks Lay with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Lay looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Nielsen finish him?

Lay tries to clinch but Nielsen moves away

and Lay is countered with a crisp right hand from Nielsen that sends him to the canvas! Nielsen follows him to the mat into side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lay trying to remain calm as Nielsen controls from the top position.
Nielsen is chipping away with strikes.
Nielsen just content to control the position.
Nielsen lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Lay down.

Lay is pushing Nielsen's head away, looking to escape. Nielsen manages to hold on to the position though.
Nielsen landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Lay trying to remain calm as Nielsen controls from the top position.
Lay knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nielsen on the ground.
Nielsen prevents Lay from escaping the position.
Lay is working to avoid the ground and pound but Nielsen connects with a decent elbow.
Lay taking punishment in the form of punches.
Lay wants to get back to his feet but Nielsen drags him back down.
Nielsen advances to full mount.
The referee warns Lay that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bobo Nielsen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Nielsen drops Lay with a straight right hand, right on the button! Nielsen follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bobo Nielsen!
Washe Lay spoke after the fight, saying 'fvck!'.
