Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Potter (ranked 1052 p4p, 119 weight class) and Eddie Gelfen (ranked 2212 p4p, 255 weight class). Potter comes to the cage accompanied by THE LION SLEEPS TONIGHT. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Potter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Eddie Gelfen!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Anni Minnemäki and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Potter ducks right into an uppercut from Gelfen.
Gelfen throws a low kick, looking for Potter's leg but Potter calmly moves out of range.
Potter misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Gelfen slips under a jab.
Gelfen looks to land a left hand but Potter moved out of range nicely.
A good leg kick by Potter.
Gelfen scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Gelfen throws a jab when Potter was well out of range.
Potter swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Potter circles away from the clinch attempt.
Gelfen tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Potter throws a quick counter head kick but Gelfen was just out of range.
A solid leg kick lands there for Gelfen.
Gelfen throws a body punch but Potter moves out of range.
Gelfen throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Gelfen misses with a hook.
A nice inside leg kick there by Potter. That's going to slow Gelfen down.
Gelfen takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Gelfen cracks Potter with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Eddie Gelfen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gelfen stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Potter.
Potter bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Gelfen's head.
Gelfen throws a series of punches but Potter avoids them all with ease.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gelfen throws a hook but Potter avoids it easily.
Potter lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Gelfen throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Potter sees it coming and avoids it easily.
A cross from Gelfen lands.
Potter defending well as Gelfen loads up on a big left hand.
Gelfen misses with a hook.
Gelfen waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Potter.
Donk. Potter catches Gelfen right on the button with a cross.
Potter feints and then cracks Gelfen's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Gelfen down.
Potter has been working on his boxing with his coaches at FAME in the buildup to the fight.
Potter cracks Gelfen with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Gelfen misses with a few strikes there.
Gelfen doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Gelfen looks winded!
Gelfen just misses with a punch to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Potter fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Gelfen has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Potter lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Potter throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Gelfen misses with a body shot.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Potter scores with a push kick.
Potter throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Gelfen on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Potter lands a nice looking kick to the body. Gelfen takes a step back to recover.

Potter sends Gelfen crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Potter is motioning to the referee to let Gelfen up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!


Gelfen is rocked!


It looks like Eddie Gelfen has been cut.
Potter lands a front kick.
Potter lands a nice leg kick that just misses Gelfen's sensitive parts.
Gelfen throws a body shot but no joy.
Potter looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Potter throws a quick inside leg kick.
Gelfen takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Potter throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Gelfen crumples to the floor and the fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Jack Potter!
During a confident post fight interview, Jack Potter thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
