Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, De Janeiro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Carlos Soto!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Donald Grub and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Soto clinches with his opponent.
Soto misses with a hook to the ribs.
Soto doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Soto can't find room to land a body shot as Janeiro controls the action.
Janeiro blocks a body shot from Soto.
Soto tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Janeiro pulls guard successfully.

Janeiro looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Soto would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Soto gets to his feet - Janeiro follows without any prompting.
Soto tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Janeiro counters with a nice double leg into side control. Soto won't be happy with that.

Soto explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

Soto wants to clinch up but Janeiro keeps it at a distance.

Soto tries to close the distance and clinch but Janeiro swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Soto looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Janeiro feinted with a counter takedown.

Soto moves in looking to clinch but Janeiro pushes him off.

Soto clinches up with Janeiro and pushes him back against the cage.

Janeiro tries to pull guard but Soto forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Soto can't find room to land a body shot as Janeiro controls the action.

Soto got a little sloppy there for a moment and Janeiro has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Soto has managed to get both his arms back between Janeiro's legs - danger averted.

Janeiro pushes a forearm under Soto's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Soto is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). De Janeiro!
