Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Paolo Nutnini (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Klaus Rasmussen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Paolo Nutnini!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Klaus Rasmussen!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rasmussen tries a head kick but it misses.
Rasmussen misses with a takedown attempt - Nutnini sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Nutnini looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Nutnini missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Rasmussen is looking to get back to full guard here but Nutnini has managed to pass to side control instead.
Rasmussen is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Poor strikes thrown by Nutnini there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Rasmussen tries to hold on but Nutnini pushes him away.

Nutnini is going olschool here, as he tries to force Rasmussen to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Rasmussen shrugs it off.

Nutnini jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Rasmussen manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Rasmussen sneaks out the side door and pushes Nutnini away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Nutnini shoots in but Rasmussen avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Rasmussen stuffs the takedown attempt from Nutnini. Nutnini gets slowly back to his feet.

Nutnini drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Nutnini is breathing heavily.

Rasmussen is not content to let Nutnini control the position.

Nutnini tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Nutnini has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Nutnini has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Rasmussen tries to escape but Nutnini is in control.

Rasmussen is being controlled here.
Rasmussen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nutnini. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Nutnini closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Rasmussen wants to get back to his feet.
Nutnini just content to control the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rasmussen takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Rasmussen managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Nutnini.

Nutnini is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Rasmussen knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Nutnini will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Rasmussen misses with a head kick.
Nutnini changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rasmussen tries to avoid it but Nutnini manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rasmussen to the ground. Rasmussen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Nutnini feints and as Rasmussen raises his hands in defense, Nutnini changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Nutnini stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rasmussen swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Rasmussen wants to stand up but Nutnini is controlling him.
Rasmussen preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Rasmussen is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Nutnini shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Nutnini was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Rasmussen tries to lock up and control but Nutnini gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Nutnini is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Rasmussen is forced to tap! Great finish!
