Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Donold Trenchard!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trenchard will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Trenchard stuffs the takedown attempt from Laney. Laney gets slowly back to his feet.
Laney tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Trenchard defends well and Laney ends up having to push Trenchard into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Laney moves to clinch but Trenchard breaks away

and Trenchard counters with a single leg into guard. Laney didn't expect that.

Laney pushes Trenchard off and gets back to his feet.

Laney clinches.
Trenchard is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Laney to keep the fight standing.

Joon Laney has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Donold Trenchard.

Laney pulls guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Laney is adopting a defensive guard.
Laney looking for a sweep. Not yet Laney, not yet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Trenchard stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Laney swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Trenchard is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Laney is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Trenchard is controlling him.
Trenchard scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Laney looking to hit a scissor sweep but Trenchard is one step ahead there.
Trenchard sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Laney's guard.
Trenchard missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Trenchard is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Laney is just riding it out for now. Trenchard eventually gives up the hold.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Laney is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Laney is trying to get back to full guard.

Trenchard is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Laney is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Donold Trenchard!
