Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brendan Duff (ranked 448 p4p, 61 weight class) and Peter Parker (ranked 527 p4p, 76 weight class). Duff comes into the arena with Determined by Mudvayne blaring out of the sound system. Brendan Duff had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 wins, 8 losses and 0 draws, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brendan Duff!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 wins, 16 losses and 0 draws, fighting out of Amsterdam, Peter Parker!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Richard Clark and James Atkins.



The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big right from Duff misses.
Parker's coach down at Private Training Center was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Parker's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Duff takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Parker avoids a kick to the body.
Parker scores with a jab. Duff acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Parker throws a low kick but Duff avoids it.
Duff throws a jab but it's blocked by Parker.

Duff tries to keep at a distance but Parker has taken the fight into the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Parker tries to clinch but Duff is having none of it.
Parker fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Duff has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Peter Parker is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

We've been hearing reports that Duff has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

A little jabbing left from Parker on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Duff throws a hook to the side of Parker's head but Parker sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Duff half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Duff has had enough of the clinch but Parker keeps him there for the moment.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Duff takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Duff is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Parker's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

Duff keeps the fight on the outside.
Parker connects with a jab.
Parker tries to clinch but Duff moves out of range.
Duff dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Parker scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Duff doesn't seem bothered though.

Parker bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Parker throws a hook but Duff avoids it easily.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Parker enables Duff to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Parker manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Parker is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Duff has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Parker takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Parker's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Duff wants to improve his position but Parker is controlling well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Duff gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Parker.
Parker ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Parker misses with a hook. Duff ducked under it nicely.

Parker rushes Duff and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Duff is trying to push Parker away but Parker has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

A nice left hand lands by Parker.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

With the fighters up against the cage, Duff throws an elbow but misses.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Parker pulls Duff in close to his closed guard and prevents Duff from doing any damage or advancing position.

Peter Parker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Brendan Duff.
I think Parker has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
