Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Denver Morgan (ranked 24878 p4p, 0 weight class) and Freidrich Neitzel (ranked 4137 p4p, 0 weight class). Neitzel comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Relax, Take It Easy kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Freidrich Neitzel has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Denver Morgan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Freidrich Neitzel!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown attempt by Neitzel or perhaps it was just good defense by Morgan, which made it look bad.
Neitzel tries to clinch but Morgan moves out of range.
Neitzel swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A punch combination from Neitzel misses.

Morgan manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Neitzel on his heels. He'll look to pass Neitzel's guard now, I'm sure.
Morgan won't allow Neitzel to get back to his feet.
Morgan is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Morgan lands a couple of elbows.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Morgan stays in close to Neitzel's body and controls the position.

Morgan thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Neitzel looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Neitzel has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Morgan has passed into side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Morgan tries for a kimura but Neitzel is defending well.

Morgan seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Neitzel for as long as he can get away with.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Morgan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Neitzel is trying desperately to improve position.

That's time! Morgan's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Morgan closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Neitzel did well to prevent Morgan getting side control.

Morgan is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Neitzel can do to turn this around?

Morgan jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Neitzel is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Neitzel and Morgan has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Morgan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Neitzel takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
You can see the frustration on Neitzel's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Neitzel seems a little lost for a moment, as Morgan dominates the positioning.
Morgan scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Neitzel to see if he's OK.
Neitzel is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Neitzel tries to control but Morgan manages to take his back.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Morgan is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.

Morgan's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Neitzel scores with a head kick. Morgan tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.


It looks like Denver Morgan has been cut.
Neitzel cracks Morgan with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.


Morgan is rocked!
Neitzel throws a head kick that misses.
Neitzel misses with a few strikes there.
Neitzel misses with a wild combination.
Neitzel lands a jab-cross combination.
Oh Morgan is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Neitzel connects with a jab, followed by a picture perfect straight right that sends Morgan to the canvas, out cold! What a finish by Neitzel!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:38 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Freidrich Neitzel!
After winning the bout, Freidrich Neitzel thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
