Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Monday Blues (ranked 1744 p4p, 188 weight class) and Jay Smith (ranked 1341 p4p, 148 weight class). Blues comes into the arena with Chance The Rapper - Angels blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blues throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

We've been told by Blues's head coaches at Aspire Academy that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Smith closes this distance looking for a takedown but Blues circles away.

Smith throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Blues stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Smith changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Blues tries to avoid it but Smith manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Blues to the ground. Blues escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Blues throws a leg kick which misses Smith's front leg but catches the back leg as Smith tries to avoid it.
Blues is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
