Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Buddy Brandon (ranked 2686 p4p, 345 weight class) and Thomas Clawnes (ranked 3365 p4p, 415 weight class). Brandon comes into the arena with All Summer Long blaring out of the sound system. Clawnes has chosen My name is MUD as his entrance music. Thomas Clawnes acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brandon drives through and clinches with Clawnes against the cage.
Brandon fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Clawnes breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Brandon closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Clawnes's guard.
Clawnes preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Clawnes looking for a sweep. Not yet Clawnes, not yet.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Clawnes is on top in guard.

Brandon wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brandon is trying to keep Clawnes in close.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Clawnes wants to stand and escape but instead Brandon has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brandon throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Clawnes works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Brandon postures up in Clawnes's guard and throws a big left but Clawnes blocks it.
Brandon throws a big elbow that misses.

Brandon wants to control from the top but Clawnes keeps moving.
Clawnes manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Brandon manages to get himself to full guard.

Brandon has his foot on Clawnes's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Clawnes works his way back into a safe position though.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Clawnes passes Brandon's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Brandon is looking to improve his position.

Brandon has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Clawnes is working away from the top position though.
Clawnes thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Brandon's head.
The fighters are battling for position here. Brandon manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Clawnes is in close to Brandon's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Clawnes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Brandon swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Brandon is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Clawnes wants to pass the guard but Brandon is keeping the position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Clawnes's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Clawnes postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Clawnes throwing strikes from guard but Brandon blocks nicely.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Clawnes scores with a nice right hand.

Brandon is rocked!

Clawnes throws a hook but Brandon blocks it.
Brandon throws a sloppy head kick and Clawnes moves out of range easily.

Clawnes cracks Brandon with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Brandon looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Clawnes finish him?
Oh Brandon is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Brandon circles to his right, straight into a beautiful hook by Clawnes. Brandon falls face first into the canvas - great knockout victory for Clawnes!
