Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Johnny Kilmister!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, William Gold and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meld shoots in but Kilmister avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Meld fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kilmister avoids it really well and circles away.
A countering left hand to the body from Kilmister misses.
No luck for Meld with that takedown attempt.

Meld has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kilmister finds it's way round the side to connect with Meld's head.

I was talking to Meld's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Kilmister digs a right hand underneath Meld's ribcage. Meld let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Meld shoots in for a takedown but Kilmister shows good takedown defense.

Meld gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kilmister to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Kilmister thows a body kick. Meld tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Kilmister moves in looking to clinch but Meld pushes him off.

Meld misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kilmister throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Meld counters with a three punch combo that has Kilmister backing up. Kilmister nods at Meld to acknowledge the strikes.
Kilmister goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Kilmister pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Kilmister tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Meld manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Meld changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Meld goes for a double leg but Kilmister avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kilmister continues to drive forward.

Meld shoots in looking for a takedown. Kilmister tries to sprawl out of it but Meld keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kilmister manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Kilmister fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Meld.

Kilmister sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Meld thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kilmister's head.
Harcin Meld overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Kilmister is refusing to be controlled, as Meld sits in half guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Kilmister is looking to get back to full guard here but Meld has managed to pass to side control instead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kilmister takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
