Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Devon Malcolm (ranked 2313 p4p, 240 weight class) and Chuck Darski (ranked 3450 p4p, 316 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Devon Malcolm!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chuck Darski!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malcolm throws a jab when Darski was well out of range.
Darski steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Malcolm.
Darski appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Malcolm throws a jab but it's blocked by Darski.
Malcolm looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Malcolm doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Darski cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Darski throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Malcolm fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Darski manages to avoid it.
We've been informed that Darski has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Darski ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Darski lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Darski takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Darski throws a leg kick but Malcolm checks it.
Malcolm wants to clinch up but Darski keeps it at a distance.
Darski appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.

Malcolm has taken the fight to the clinch.
Malcolm lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Darski backwards.
Malcolm misses with a body punch.

Malcolm has a couple of punches blocked by Darski.

Darski is fighting off a takedown attempt but Malcolm is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Darski to the mat. Darski regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Darski can do anything to dispel that myth.

Malcolm has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Darski is rocked!
Darski really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Malcolm. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Malcolm wants to control from the top but Darski keeps moving.
Darski is still in real trouble! Can Malcolm finish him?
Malcolm is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Darski is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Malcolm wants to pass the guard but Darski is keeping the position.

Darski lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Malcolm is pulling down on Darski's head. It's preventing any offense from Darski, at least for the moment.

Darski is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Darski has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Malcolm is proving hard to escape from.

Malcolm escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Darski gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Malcolm scoring with big shots to the body. Darski is looking for a way out. A despairing look towards the ref and the official steps in to stop the fight. Darski was obviously done but didn't want to tap out.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Devon Malcolm!
A less than humble Devon Malcolm misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
