Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gilbert Valur (ranked 3126 p4p, 406 weight class) and Mark Bahaghari (ranked 3468 p4p, 438 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Valur might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to David Bowie - Let's Dance. Bahaghari is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Broken . Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gilbert Valur!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mark Bahaghari!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valur looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Valur pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Bahaghari counters with a body kick.
Bahaghari will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Bahaghari tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Valur swivels and escapes.
Valur shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bahaghari sprawls well. Bahaghari wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Valur gets slowly back to his feet.
We've been told by Valur's head coaches at Bi-Polar Asylum LV's #1 Public Training Center that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Valur shoots in and drives through. Bahaghari sprawls well.
Valur rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bahaghari moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Valur.

Bahaghari clinches up with Valur and pushes him back against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Valur is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Bahaghari is keeping busy.
We've been informed that Bahaghari has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Bahaghari's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Bahaghari lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Valur circles away quickly and effectively.

Valur shoots in looking for a takedown but Bahaghari manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Valur's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Valur takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Bahaghari tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Valur defends well and Bahaghari ends up having to push Valur into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

and Bahaghari counters by moving into the clinch.
Valur is trying to pull guard but Bahaghari has him pressed against the cage.

Bahaghari thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Valur if he has to take too many more of those.

Valur is looking to control Bahaghari's arms but Bahaghari gets an underhook and turns him. Now Valur has his back to the cage.

Valur drops down looking for an ankle pick but Bahaghari pulls his leg out and moves away.

Valur shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bahaghari's guard.

Bahaghari is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Valur is controlling him.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Bahaghari pushes Valur up against the cage in a clinch.
Valur is looking to take this one to the mat.
Bahaghari has Valur pressed against the cage, preventing Valur from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Valur drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Bahaghari gets the underhooks and prevents it.

and Valur counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Valur.

Bahaghari has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Valur off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Valur shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bahaghari sprawls well. Bahaghari wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Valur gets slowly back to his feet.

Bahaghari shoots in and bounces Valur off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Bahaghari must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Bahaghari would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Valur throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bahaghari's waist but Bahaghari gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Valur off to one side.
Valur wants to clinch up but Bahaghari keeps it at a distance.

Valur shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bahaghari as he jumps to the side.

Bahaghari shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Bahaghari was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!


Valur is rocked!

Bahaghari is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Valur knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Oh Valur is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Bahaghari slows the pace down.
Valur seems to have got his legs back now.

Bahaghari cracks Valur with an elbow. That is naaassty.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bahaghari has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Bahaghari lands a big head kick that sends Valur tumbling to the mat! Bahaghari takes a step backwards and waves Valur back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Gilbert Valur seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sloppy strikes from Bahaghari. Those never looked like landing.
Valur appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Bahaghari tries to clinch but Valur moves out of range.
Valur finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Bahaghari's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Valur falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mark Bahaghari!
