And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schmitt slips a straight right by Opdivo.
Opdivo bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Schmitt's head.

It looks like Tumleh Schmitt has been cut.
Opdivo throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Horrible takedown attempt by Schmitt or perhaps it was just good defense by Opdivo, which made it look bad.
A combination from Opdivo does no damage.

Opdivo lands a big right hand that sends Schmitt crashing to the mat! Opdivo stays standing though and waves Schmitt back to his feet!

Schmitt is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Opdivo throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Schmitt counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Opdivo!
Schmitt is still in real trouble! Can Opdivo finish him?
Opdivo's coaches at Jitsu Jim have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
Opdivo is not content to let Schmitt control the position.

Schmitt looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Schmitt is trying to ground and pound but Opdivo uses the momentary lack of control by Schmitt to regain half guard.
Schmitt seems to have recovered his senses.

Schmitt is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Opdivo is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
