PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dan Sudo (ranked 2395 p4p, 224 weight class) and Hans Hermann Hoppe (ranked 3443 p4p, 325 weight class). Hoppe has chosen Wind of Change as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dan Sudo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hans Hermann Hoppe!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Hirohito Nitta and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sudo looks for a takedown but Hoppe sprawls well.
Hoppe's coach down at LOD Gym of the Gods was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Hoppe's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Sudo tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hoppe swivels and escapes.

Hoppe feints and as Sudo raises his hands in defense, Hoppe changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, if Hoppe is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Sudo has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hoppe is working away from the top position though.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Sudo has momentary wrist control but Hoppe slips an elbow through the middle.

Hoppe has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Sudo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hoppe on the ground.

Hans Hermann Hoppe showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Hans Hermann Hoppe comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hoppe has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
