The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Chad Campbell and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Bartczach.
Chavez could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Bartczach misses with a jab, cross combination.
Chavez went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Bartczach throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.

Chavez tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Bartczach has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Chavez shoots in for a double leg but Bartczach sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
No joy there for Bartczach, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
As Bartczach tries to get set, Chavez tries to push him back and clinch up but Bartczach manages to avoid the attempt.

The fight stays on the outside here - Bartczach looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Bartczach manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Chavez on his heels. He'll look to pass Chavez's guard now, I'm sure.

Bartczach decides to stand up.
Bartczach feints a jab promting Chavez to slip. Bartczach then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Chavez slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

and Bartczach counters with a big slam. Chavez looks out but Bartczach is landing strikes to his unconscious opponent! Eventually the ref steps in to save Chavez from any more punishment. A brutal conclusion to the fight!
