Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rokurou Kyo (ranked 1315 p4p, 180 weight class) and Godofredo Ruiz (ranked 2552 p4p, 320 weight class). Godofredo Ruiz has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Godofredo Ruiz!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Sano.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruiz cracks a nice hook into Kyo's ribs.
Kyo ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Ruiz uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kyo.
Ruiz throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kyo throws a jab but it's blocked by Ruiz.
The fighters circle momentarily. Kyo darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

It looks like Godofredo Ruiz has been cut.
Ruiz thows a left - swing and a miss!
The crowd cheers as Kyo lands an impressive looking overhand right. Ruiz doesn't seem phased though.
Rokurou Kyo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kyo throws a jab when Ruiz was well out of range.
Ruiz misses with a body shot.
Ruiz throws a shot to the body.
Kyo throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Kyo keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Kyo ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kyo misses with a looping left.
Ruiz has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Kyo lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Ruiz backs up against the cage.

Nice uppercut lands for Kyo. That snapped Ruiz's head back.
Kyo jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Kyo throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Kyo takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Ruiz lands the left hand.
Kyo ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Kyo uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Kyo lands with an uppercut that bounces Ruiz off the cage and back into range.

That has opened up Godofredo Ruiz's cut even more.

Ruiz slips under a jab from Kyo.
Ruiz ducks right into an uppercut from Kyo.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kyo throws a shot from downtown. Ruiz moves away and avoids it.
Kyo throws a right hand that misses
letting Ruiz counter with a right hand.
Kyo throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ruiz stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ruiz's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Kyo connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Ruiz scrambles back to his feet.

Ruiz is rocked!
Ruiz is aggressively charging in as Kyo backs up avoiding any damage. Kyo tosses out a jab and Ruiz runs right into it face first! Ruiz is out cold! Kyo dropped down on all fours and is barking in Ruiz's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Rokurou Kyo!
