The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice body kick there by Higa.
Higa rushes Ryan and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Higa has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Ryan uses from the top position.
Ryan controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Higa preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Ryan forces his way into half guard.
Higa knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ryan on the ground.
Ryan has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Higa is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Higa tries to improve his position but instead Ryan has taken his back!
Ryan is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Higa won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Ryan off his unconscious opponent!
