Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kelvin Blankenship!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bork Laser!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laser misses with a series of wild punches.
Laser defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Blankenship.
Blankenship changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Laser tries to avoid it but Blankenship manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Laser to the ground. Laser escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Laser throws a head kick but Blankenship moves out of range.
Blankenship looks for a takedown but Laser sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kelvin Blankenship. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Laser dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Bork Laser seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Laser fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Blankenship to the ground. Laser is now in Blankenship's guard.

Laser gets to his feet - Blankenship follows without any prompting.

Laser has taken the fight to the clinch.
Blankenship drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Laser gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Laser turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Laser manages to end up in side control.

Blankenship throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Laser decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Blankenship is breathing heavily.
Blankenship trying to hold on to Laser's head to control him but Laser postures up.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Still in half guard, Laser seems content to control.
Let's hope that Laser has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Blankenship pulls guard effortlessly.
Blankenship could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Laser stops Blankenship from standing up.
Laser controlling from the top position.
Laser tries to free his leg and advance position but Blankenship is retaining full guard.

Laser controls from within his opponent's guard.
Laser content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Laser showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Laser with a nice head shot there.


It looks like Kelvin Blankenship has been cut.

Laser thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Laser trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Laser postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Laser is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Blankenship wants to stand up but Laser is controlling him.

Blankenship scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Blankenship looks for a takedown but Laser sprawls well.
Laser feints the counter takedown.
Laser tries to land a front kick but Blankenship steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Laser gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Laser has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Laser manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Laser has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Blankenship has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Blankenship jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Laser walks away with a smile on his face. Blankenship gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Laser looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Blankenship is fending him off so far but Laser persists. Nope, Blankenship circles away and we're back to standing.
Blankenship is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Laser.
Laser misses with a takedown attempt - Blankenship sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Blankenship appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.

Laser throws an elbow that misses. Blankenship uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Laser's guard. Nice move by Blankenship!


Laser pushes Blankenship off and scrambles back to his feet.
Laser tries for a takedown but Blankenship sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Blankenship is looking to counter the offense by Laser and move into the clinch.
Kelvin Blankenship has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bork Laser.
Laser tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Blankenship swivels and escapes.
Laser shoots in for a takedown but Blankenship shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Laser has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Blankenship is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Blankenship shoots in but Laser avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Laser pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
As Laser tries to get set, Blankenship tries to push him back and clinch up but Laser manages to avoid the attempt.

Blankenship closes the distance and clinches up with Laser, looking for a takedown. Blankenship pushes Laser against the cage but Laser circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Laser changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Blankenship tries to avoid it but Laser manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Blankenship to the ground. Blankenship escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Blankenship wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Blankenship tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Laser just stands there and leans against the cage.
Laser tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Blankenship's elbow.
Blankenship managing to block the knees to the body from Laser.

Blankenship wants to stand but Laser is controlling his posture from full guard.
Blankenship is fighting to break Laser's control of his arms but Laser is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Laser is working an open guard so Blankenship takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Blankenship is defended easily by Laser.

Laser closes the distance and clinches.

Laser jumps into guard, dragging Blankenship to the mat.
Blankenship might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Laser manages to escape and get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bork Laser showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Blankenship's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Laser stops Blankenship from getting back to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Blankenship tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Laser has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Blankenship throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Laser putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!


Kelvin Blankenship's cut is getting worse.
Laser connects with a bit shot that sees Blankenship covering up! More strikes from Laser and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Laser is our winner by TKO!

A determined Bork Laser didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
